Damn! This is a great video.
I love it that Lady GaGa does some crazy shit and people can’t get enough. Who else could do a video like this and have it played to mainstream audiences? Undoubtedly another hit for her. You have to see it to understand:
The fall TV line-up is beginning. I’m looking forward to my returning favorites, including Two and a Half Men, Desperate Housewives, 30 Rock and Private Practice. I lost track of The Office and Ugly Betty, but I want to get started again.
I’ll always love The Simpsons and Family Guy, so those are a given. I’ll also start watching The Cleveland Show by default. Unfortunately I don’t know much about new shows that are starting, so I’ll have to see what people are watching with those.
What are you going to be watching? New shows, returning shows?
The 80s was a bad time for fashion and concept videos, but I didn’t realize it was this bad. Check out this hilarious video of “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” You won’t be able to turn away, even though you’ll want to. (Found through Chris.)
Bea Arthur, my favorite Golden Girl, passed away today of cancer at age 86. It was always a dream of mine to see her perform. I missed the chance on her last stand-up comedy tour, and I guess I always hoped she would give one more show.

I think if more people broke out into dance in public places, the world would just be a better place. Look at the smiles on everyone’s faces. (Thanks Irisgirl.)
It’s 3AM and I’ve finally convinced Rodney to stay up with me.
I’ve always been a nocturnal person. Even when I was a kid, I would adjust to an evening schedule during the summer when I was out of school. My parents always hated it. They would say “But Nathan, you should get your sleep.” I would try to explain, in the best way a child could, that it makes no difference what time you go to bed as long as you get your rest. Even to this day, they make a big deal about it, and I have no idea why. I get the same amount of sleep as everyone else, just at a different time. Oh, well.
One thing I’ve often wondered is whether or not my schedule is internal, or if it is affected by light. Let’s say I went to a different country where my sleeping patterns aligned with their time zone. For example, I usually go to bed at 6AM here. So what if I went somewhere that would make it 10PM when I went to bed? Would I just stick to my regular schedule, or would I once again re-adjust my sleeping patterns to go to bed when it’s 6AM there? I hope that makes sense. It does in my head.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to convince Rodney to stay up with me, and he wouldn’t go for it. He likes to be an early riser. But I’ve finally convinced him, and little by little, he’s been doing it. Tonight, he proudly announced he was going all the way and staying up until 6AM.
He also admitted that it’s really nice being up late. The world is so quiet and peaceful. You get a lot of work done at night. I would say that everybody should try it, but that would defeat the purpose, now wouldn’t it?
Speaking of nocturnal, we just finished watching Twilight for the second time. I love that movie. I can’t put my finger on why. On the outside, it’s just another vampire themed movie, this time geared at younger audiences. But there’s something so dark and romantic about it. I think everybody loves a good vampire story because of the symbolism behind it. The ability to live forever. The mystery of hiding your true identity. And as with all vampire movies, there is the tragic love story between mortal and immortal.
And besides, I think Robert Pattinson is just dreamy.
Everyone from gay rights activists to the Parents Television Council is angry about last Sunday’s episode of “Family Guy.” But the show’s fan base, which is filled with loyal gay viewers, thinks everyone should lighten up. So what’s all the fuss about?

The episode, titled “Family Gay,” finds the Griffins in a financial crunch. To make some extra money, Peter Griffin signs up for lab testing. In one experiment, he is injected with a gay gene, which instantly transforms him into a flaming queen.
Activists are angry because they feel the episode squeezed just about every stereotype you could imagine into one episode. Gloryholes, show tunes, fisting, open relationships, orgies, the way gay people dress, the way they speak, the ability to cook, the ability to decorate, the limp wrists and feminine mannerisms… Basically any and every stereotype people have about us made it into the episode.
The Parents Television Council has filed a complaint with the FCC, adding criticism over one scene where a horse licks Peter’s ass (it was a very mild depiction of rimming) and another scene where the baby Stewie ate cereal with horse sperm in it.
My two cents on it…
The oldest trick in comedy is taking a complex issue, blowing it up into a hugely exaggerated joke, and through laughter, we are able to deal with the reality. The episode is actually very “pro-gay” if you pay attention to the dialog. There is one scene that summarizes it when Lois tells her newly gay husband that we can’t choose our sexuality anymore than we can choose the color of our skin. She then gives her full support to accepting that Peter is gay. I loved it! This episode is an instant classic.
As far as the group of parents who are pissed off… Look, you are responsible for what your children watch. It is not Fox’s job to raise your children.
The ratings system was specifically created so that parents can block shows that are rated TV-14. All you have to do is set your TV to block any shows that you don’t want your kids to watch. You have the tools to be better parents — use them!

The short answer is NO…
Despite all his crazy, self centered, eccentric ways, I usually really like Kanye West and I usually defend the things he says. But I strongly disagree with a statement he recently made during a taping of VH1’s Storytellers.
Kanye asked the crowd, “Can’t we give Chris a break? I know I make mistakes in life.”
A mistake is one thing… battering someone is something else.
When I was growing up, my best friend’s father used to get drunk and beat his wife until she was bloodied and bruised. She was too scared to call the police, too afraid to tell anyone. My friend and I were young and vulnerable. We were scared too. Scared that if we told someone, he’d do the same things to us. So there we were, many nights, listening to the yelling and crying through the walls. We just tried to focus on our toys, or cartoons, or anything that would block it out.
I cannot even imagine beating someone, much less a woman. I’ve been violent only a few times in my life, and that was in high school when I was being beaten up by bullies for being gay. But that was self defense. I’ve never just went up to a person and attacked them. I’ve never even slapped someone. I can’t imagine how much anger it would take inside me to hit another human being.
I understand that people make mistakes. I understand that people can change… get counseling and overcome their violent ways. I’m well aware of the power of forgiveness. And perhaps I am punishing Chris Brown as a result of my childhood.
But I believe he belongs in jail so society can be safe from him. Beating a woman like that is just one step away from murdering her. And people can die from head injuries. There is just no way to sugarcoat such horrible behavior.
So no, Kanye West, I don’t think Chris Brown deserves a break.
Madonna’s appearance in the March issue of W magazine is already heating up the internet.
The photoshoot, taken in Brazil by Steven Klein, features the 22 year old hottie Jesus Luz, who is now rumored to be Madonna’s latest boy toy. It tells the story of a powerful older woman and her sexual relationship with a much younger man. Hmmm… not too far of a stretch, eh?
But the guy is hot, nonetheless, and I look forward to seeing the full issue. Madonna looks great as well. Somehow this reminds me of her Something to Remember days mixed together with some of the orgy photos from Sex. The last picture freaks me out, though. Did she kill him?
Here’s a peek:

Get your cosmos ready because the Sex and the City sequel has officially been confirmed! Director Michael Patrick King will begin filming this summer in New York City with a planned release date of summer 2010.
What would you like to see happen in the sequel?
