The temperature is supposed to get down to 18 degrees in a few days, and I say bring it on. I used to hate the cold weather but I’ve come to embrace it. In fact, I even enjoy it a little bit.

I used to get the winter blues, which apparently is a real condition that does depress millions of people. But the thing that makes the big difference is we have more sunny days here in Tennessee. I remember growing up in the midwest, where it was dark and cloudy all the way into March, which really took a toll on your moods. But here, we really don’t have that many dark days… at least not in a row. They are spread out and when I think of where we live, I think of sunshine.

Sunny and cold, I can deal with that. It’s also funny to see our dog Petey go outside to use the bathroom when it’s cold. Sometimes the grass is frozen and he tiptoes around on it. So cute. He certainly gets the job done quickly! He’s mid-stream by the time his paws hit the ground.

Bring on the cold!
