Nathan Exposed: the naked truth about my gay life

This article really got me fired up… and not in a good way.

A new study claims that circumcision possibly reduces the risk of HIV for heterosexual men, but not homosexual men. I’ve been hearing different variations of this claim for years… they all have the same point - getting your foreskin cut off gives you a “get out of jail free” card. Some of the studies focus on men in general, others try to limit it to just gay men.

While I do think it’s beneficial to research all realms of HIV prevention, I feel as though these articles give a very false sense of security to heterosexual men. Some people are just that gullible. If they are circumcised, they think they can go stick their dick in any woman they want without consequence.

It just doesn’t work that way. We should not be using foreskins (or lack thereof) as a substitute for safe sex. It’s careless and risky, and you’re really gambling with your life and your partner’s life when you do that.

There are plenty of men, gay, straight or other, who are circumcised and still contracted HIV through unprotected intercourse. Instead of worrying what the odds are, why not just slip a condom on and at least show an effort, hmmm?

That’s idiotic and dangerous. Any person–male, female, gay, straight or any variation–who engages in any form of intercourse w/o using a condom is an irresponsible fool—-unless both parties have been 100% exclusive with each other since 1975, or are both virgins.

Not that I’m opinionated or anything.

Why are we still studying this? Whatever mild effect circumcision may have on disease transmission, it DOES NOT prevent AIDS. Most of the half-million American men who have died of AIDS were circumcised at birth.

The idea of amputating an exquisite body part to fight disease is as ridiculous as it is offensive. You know, there are studies showing female genital cutting fights AIDS. The very thought is sick and wrong, for either gender.

      Foreskin feels REALLY good.

We need a Manhattan Project-style effort with the best medical and science minds in the world, fully funded with U.S. and international monies, to find an effective CURE for HIV/AIDS.

Not expensive meds that keep the virus halted but rebounds as soon as the patient stops taking the drugs, but a CURE.

We can fucking send an explorer to Mars, land it, and it performs complex science experiments sending data and photos back to earth but, we can’t find a cure for HIV/AIDS?

If we have $12 billion a month for Bush’s Iraq war follies, we can participate and help fund a Manhattan Project-style effort to find a cure.
