Nathan Exposed: the naked truth about my gay life

When I subscribe to your blog through RSS, it means I like you. You said something that I connected with, and now I want to hear more. I want to read about your opinions, your feelings, your life. I want to take time out of my day to learn more about yours. It’s the ultimate compliment to add someone’s blog to your RSS reader because it means you care, even though you’re not obligated to.

So please explain to me why some bloggers find it amusing to limit their RSS feeds to the first few sentences of a post, expecting their subscribers to click over to the blog to get the full article. That’s just rude.

I think that the people who try to do this to their readers might as well just remove the RSS feature completely. I see no point in trying to tease readers into reading a post by clicking over to your website. It tests my patience.

I’m already reading the post, you have my attention. Don’t make me click over to your website, thus losing my train of thought and having to find my place in the article again. If I wanted to read that way, I would have went to your site manually, rather than opening it via RSS.

I immediately unsubscribe from all blogs that do this. Nobody likes a cock tease. If you’re going to write, make it available for people to read any way they choose.

Thank you. :)

    I totally agree.

Sigh. I’m rss challenged. I’ll have to check mine to see how it shows. As soon as I figure out the whole feed reader thing.

Ha…I totally see your point. I’m also sad that this is the only time in my life I’ve been called a cock tease. lol.

I use Joomla, and so far I haven’t figured out to make it un-shitty, because when it feeds through it strips formatting, pictures; everything and puts everything into a huge block of text.

Well anyway, I’m sure you understand my frustration. ;)

I think that many bloggers are RSS-challenged and don’t know they are doing it. Posts like this will help..

I totally agree, and this is the first thing I check when I want to add a blog to my RSS reader. I read on my phone, so I don’t have the time or patience to wait for the whole site to load. Often, I only have a few minutes to read a few articles.
Needless to say, I normally read this blog in RSS, but I felt the subject of this article important enough to me to visit and comment.

Some don’t even realize that it’s happening or that they can change that setting.

lmao, this is the best post! I’m new at blogging and thought I was at least doing that part right. But after reading your post I realized my bugling jeans were half zipped!

Yup, I use Wordpress and just checked my settings. I had “full text” checked but never noticed the big note that reads: “Note: If you use the feature, it will cut off posts in RSS feeds.”

Some of my articles are really long so I thought using the “more” tag made it easier for readers to skim through and read what they want or interests them.

Yet, I agree with what you’re saying 100 percent. So, I think it’s time for the full monty!
