Nathan Exposed: the naked truth about my gay life

Have you ever been holding onto something dark and painful in your heart, but not even realized it until you read something so deep that it brought everything to surface?

I was carrying weight, and I didn’t even know it until I read this post on Lewis’ blog.

An excerpt reads:

“I’ve got a couple of things whose time has expired deep in the crevasses of my heart. I don’t have room for them any longer. And a bad thought or two in my mind that need to make their way to death. This is the season of change. Of watching, and allowing, things to die….even encouraging them to. So, I’m digging a hole. Six feet deep. And putting a few things in there. Tossing dirt on top and tamping it down. I don’t even think I’ll place flowers on the top.”

Something about that resonated with me. Maybe we all have a little baggage that needs to be dropped off in a barren place… never to be found again.

It is good to rid yourself of things that may be weighing you down, every now and then. I have these pangs sometimes during the autumn.

Sounds like it struck you sort of like it did me. I think that sloughing off negative/bad/unnecessary things in our lives is ongoing. Seasonal. It’s great that we’re both, at least, aware of our surroundings, our head space, our hearts, and what needs to come and what needs to go. Hugs.
