Nathan Exposed: the naked truth about my gay life

kissingWell, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. An odd holiday, actually.

I guess Valentine’s Day has always been bittersweet for me. The good news is that I’ve always had someone on Valentine’s Day. The bad news is that I’ve always had single friends who felt sad on that day. I don’t like that.

The thing about Christmas is that we’re all supposed to spread love and cheer. No stranger should feel alone, peace on earth, and all that good stuff. But Valentine’s Day is pretty much a one shot deal. You’re either in or you’re out. How unfair is that?

Personally, I think if you need a calendar to tell you that you should be loving your significant other, there’s something wrong with you. I try to make everyday Valentine’s Day and I think Rodney does too. So when February 14th arrives, it’s kind of like any other day for us.

If you are single, please don’t get too caught up in it. Afterall, it’s just a date on a calendar. Seriously.

And whether you’re single or not, I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day. :)

[ By the way, my post on last year’s Valentine’s Day seemed to generate a lot of feedback. You might want to check it out. ]

Actually, in my country we celebrate it as a day for one’s friends :) So no one is left out (Well, at least I think so),

Oh wow… I just went to last year’s Valentine’s Day post and noticed I had commented… and not only that, I was still known as “Mr. Secret” back then!

My have times changed. I’m glad we’re still uber-close friends.

For Valentine’s Day, Chris & I are going on a date! I realize we should do that all the time, but life gets complicated sometimes. I’m looking forward to just going to a movie and holding hands with him. Happy Valentine’s Day, Nathan.

Thanks for speaking up for our single brothers and sisters…..I wish it were more geared toward love in the more general terms….not just a one-on-one special inclusive love. Love to spread it all around and far and wide.

Oh, Nathan! I went back and read last year’s post (I didn’t know about your blog then) and you made me cry! I was alone all through high school, never dated, never was part of the ‘in’ crowd, or any crowd for that matter. Thanks for the reminder that just because someone doesn’t have a particular ’significant other’ in their life, doesn’t mean they aren’t loved.
