Nathan Exposed: the naked truth about my gay life

My morning routine is now changed, and I think I kind of like it.

Rodney and I each commute about 45 mins. - 1 hour from our jobs, and it’s been that way for awhile now. Actually, it doesn’t bother me at all. But the problem is that they are on completely different sides of the map. As a result, we do a lot of driving separately, and our worlds never meet up except when we’re at home.

That’s changed now that Rodney got a job at a hotel just 5 minutes from where I work. Carpooling to work was a given. But the difference is that Rodney works 7AM - 3PM while I usually work 9AM - 5PM. We really wanted to go to work together, so I’ve adjusted my schedule to start work at 7.

Today was the first day. We got up at 5AM (normal for Rodney), got cleaned up, dressed, ate breakfast, took Petey out, made lunch and left the house. It was still dark out, the temperature was a miserable 13 degrees, and it was 6AM.

At first, I was just exhausted. I’m never up this early unless it’s from the night before. If I had to live by my internal clock, I would stay up very late and sleep through the morning. That’s just how I’m programmed.

But I have to admit there was something kind of fun about being up so early. I felt like a special member of some private club. There were very few cars on the road in the morning, and coming home was pretty easy too.

It almost felt like I’d played a big trick. Here we were, cruising along without anyone in our way. Wow.

I kind of like this new schedule. This early bird must have caught the worm. :)

How cool you get to carpool with Rodney now. :-) I’m sure that will make the ride to work even better!

When I was still in Tampa doing a morning show, I had to be up no later than 3. That’s AM. (I swear, I will NEVER do that again.) Anyway, to this day, I’m wide awake between 5-5:30 - every morning. I think it kinda annoys Chris, but I actually enjoy it.

Welcome to my world! Yeah, getting up early is a little hard to get used to, but the 5AM routine is fine with me if it only takes 25 minutes to get to the office instead of 45-60! And time with the hubby and pets is nice that time of the morning too.

I too get up early so I can miss some traffic. Unfortunately with my new job, Manny and I now commute in different directions, so no more car pooling. Oh well.. Enjoy your new routine.

It is a nice way to beat the traffic congestion a bit. I’m up at 5:30 so I can run, eat, and shower. Oh, and comment on blogs like I am now :)

I have a good 45 min commute also, and while it kinda sucks I make the most of it by jamming out to some tunes. So your bf is working for a hotel and is only 5 minutes away from your work? Can you say, “Afternoon Delight”? lol. Have a good hump day!

Yeesh, 7 AM. It’s nice to think of carpooling, but driving at that hour would make me a risk. ;)

                Oh, and hi!
