Do you know those annoying older guys who always give you some stupid name? Don’t deny it, every family has one.

Well, before they are annoying older guys, they have to be annoying younger guys. I am one of those guys.

I don’t know when it started or why, but I must rename EVERYONE I meet. Why? I don’t know why. It’s like their birth name is just not enough.

Specifically, I add a “y” to the end of them all. For example, Dan would be Danny, James would be Jamesy. It’s compulsive, I absolutely must do it. Even if I don’t say it outloud, I’m saying it in my head.

But wait, it gets worse! If your name already has a “y” on the end, I expand on the madness, and give you some extra name. They are too hideous to list. Completely random, completely pointless, and I do it to every person.

That’s my older guy habit.

BTW, lots of people do this. Not me, but it gets done TO me. And I will be 41 very soon. VERY soon. They need to stop.
