Nathan Exposed: the naked truth about my gay life

30 Days

What do people see when they look at me? Do they really know me? Do they understand the real me?

Last week, I was very inspired by a couple of photo journals I’d seen online. I discussed them in this post. Judging by your responses, a lot of you wonder how you look on the outside too. Sometimes it is jarring to see ourselves in photos. We look so different in the mirror, don’t we?

Most people keep a photo journal for at least 365 days, and many do it for years. I don’t know if I can commit to that. I don’t know if I want to see that much of myself.

So instead, I’m just doing 30 days. It will be my own journey of self discovery. I want to capture all kinds of emotions to really see myself.

I’ll start posting this Thursday, September 14th. I’m very uncomfortable with posting my photos online, so go easy on me! This isn’t an exercise in photography, it’s just something to help me see myself in different ways.

If you want to participate on your blog, please do so. I’d love to see 30 days of you, too!

Kitten my only problem is that I hate pictures of myself. That’s right, I think I look like shite when I take them. Granted, sometimes folks take good pictures of me…so, I’m not sure if I have the balls to try this, but ya never know :)

Have you set yourself any rules or conditions on the photos… like they have to be taken at the same time of day or in the same place or are they just going to be when you feel like it, where you feel like?

Great idea Nathan, I’ll look forward to seeing you every day. This black and white picyure is really nice. It has a very casual, unposed feel…
