For a Good Cause
World AIDS Day is coming up on December 1st. Every year I donate money to organizations that help with HIV/AIDS, and I try to raise awareness on my blog too. But now that Rodney and I own an underwear store, we have the power to reach a larger audience through our customers. So we have started an online fundraiser for people to donate money to amfAR.
If you can spare some change, please contribute to our efforts. Thanks!

There is no cause closer to my heart than AIDS/HIV awareness/ education/ services/research, etc. I lost my first friend to AIDS in 1983, which is also when I started working for the brand-new AIDS program at our State Health Department.
I remember feeling naively hopeful then. The scientists were telling us that transmission of the virus could be prevented thru use of condoms and clean needles. Ok–we can do this! Intense, widespread education, unlimited access to condoms, more drug rehab efforts (and free, clean needles in the meantime)—we could stop the spread of this virus before it got out of control.
25 years later, look where we are, world-wide. I have buried too many classmates, colleagues, aquaintences, friends and loved ones to count.
We are all feeling the economic pinch right now, some more than others. My dear blog readers–if you have any money still available for charitable contributions this year, please consider
Nathan’s request.
