Gay Hate Crimes – Urgent Attention, Please

May 24, 2008 | Filed in Gay | 3 Comments

What would you do if vandals cut the wires to your security cameras, cut the wires to your phone and electricity, and busted out your lights so that nobody could see them attack your home and property? Sounds like a horror film, doesn’t it?

Now imagine it had happened to you more than 8 times in the past year, and even once right after your mother had died. What would you do? Call the local and state law enforcement?

Well it has happened, right here in Tennessee. And law enforcement hasn’t done anything about it. The situation has become so extreme that the victims fear they will be murdered in their own home, and are planning on trying to get the FBI involved.

This is a shocking situation and I’m repulsed that law enforcement (whose is hired to serve and protect) is looking the other way when these gay men clearly need help.

The complete story is here. I urge all bloggers to help spread the word about this extreme hate crime and give it the national attention it deserves. Action needs to be taken quickly.

I’ve seen too many memorials for gay victims hit the national news after it was too late to protect them. Let’s not make this another headline of two gay men who were killed in cold blood.
