a dark day

It’s been a dark day for my family. My Grandmother passed away this evening. They had removed her IV yesterday, so we knew it would just be a matter of time. I’m sad about it, but in some twisted way, I feel peace now because I know she’s okay.
In addition, my cousin died in a car wreck. She lost control of the wheel and the car flipped over. She was 23. Her 1-year-old baby was in the car but is unharmed thanks to good child-restraints. See, those things really do matter.
I didn’t know her extremely well, but it’s sad just the same.
Rodney and I are heading out to Illinois tomorrow, so I’ll catch up with everyone after Labor Day. Have a safe and fun weekend, everyone.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I’ll be seeing my own Gramma this weekend who is ailing now as well. Take good care, as best you can.

I really hope you and your family are all right Nathan, I can’t imagine how it must feel to loose two family members on the same day. And well, on a side note here, it was also kind of a dark day for me – I crashed my car.
