TV Update
You can all stop holding your breath now, because I’m finally going to update you on what I’ve been watching. I know, you’ve been waiting so long…
Six Feet Under
I’m now mid-way through Season 3 of Six Feet Under. It is easily one of the most brilliant shows ever written for television. Ruth is my favorite character. There is something so amazing about her awkwardness. Her character evolves so much through the series, and it seems she gets younger with age. That seems to happen a lot with people. There is something beautiful about getting older and finding your true self in the process.
The ever elusive “sitcom”
I’ve also been getting into re-runs of Seinfeld. I used to watch that with my family all the time, it’s one of those things I have sentimental associations with. That was one of the funniest shows of the 90′s. I truly miss the sitcom.
Speaking of sitcoms, the few that still exist, Two and a Half Men and The New Adventures of Old Christine are still the best part of Monday nights.
Desperate Housewives
We’re still faithful to Desperate Housewives. No matter what happens, I always seem to want Gabby to get back with Carlos. But I’ll be glad when Bree moves on to a new husband or lover, or something. This dialogue with Orson is too long. I don’t care about him and whether or not he’s a killer, I just miss Crazy Bree. She was a lot more fun and self destructive. I also miss her first husband, Mr. Tie Me Up and Spank Me.
I did find myself watching this Grease reality show. Don’t ask me why. I have no idea why I care who gets a role in the show, it was just on between Reba and Desperate Housewives on Sunday. Oh, and Supernatural is back on Thursday. I still somewhat like it because it’s rare to find a “mystery” on TV, but they have cut out all the hot gayness of it. Yes, I do believe my posts about it last year influenced the writers. A simple Google search will show that I came up quite high in topics related to the show being gay themed.
So what are YOU watching?

I’m dying for Heroes and Battlestar to start again!
I need to send you some books
Two and a half Men … the best-written 22 minutes of one-liners on TV (IMHO).
We had the first ever episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine here last night! I was dubious at first but I think I like it.
I haven’t seen Heroes or Battlestar, but Heroes always gets a lot of buzz. I’ve heard a lot about it.
Two and a Half Men is hilarious, and yeah it is really one-liners back and forth.
Christine took me awhile to love, because it has been sooo uncommon for sitcoms to be on TV, you almost have to adjust your brain. Plus, it’s nearly impossible to not associate her with Elaine on Seinfeld!
But it’s really funny, especially some of the episodes that deal with gay people.
We are hooked on Showtime’s “Weeds” – you must – I repeat – you must get it from Netflix. If you love “6 Feet Under,” you’ll adore “Weeds!”
You l’il neph, Dan
I LOVED Six Feet Under and I still follow DH to a T. Grease thingy…yea…saw it ust because it was on after Deal or No Deal and before DH.
I’m confident that I will go to my grave serene in the knowledge that The Beverly Hillbillies is the greatest show ever produced on American television.
Talk about reality tv!
