Books meme
My friend Jimmi tagged me with this book meme. Discussing books with people is always interesting because often times their reading habits are much different than one might expect.
1. One book you have read more than once:
“Psycho” by Robert Bloch. This is the original novel that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s classic. The book actually has a much different angle than the movie, and the shower scene is a lot more graphic. Heads would have rolled if Hitchcock filmed it the way it was written (inside pun).
2. One book you would want on a desert island:
Here’s a glimpse into the inner Nathan. I would want “Grace for the Moment, Volume 1″ by Max Lucado. It is a religious book of inspiration thoughts for each day of the year, complete with quotes from the Bible and thought provoking stories.
3. One book that made you laugh:
“The Funny Thing Is” by Ellen Degeneres. I love her witty observations and stories.
4. One book that made you cry:
Gosh, what a jerk. I don’t think any book has ever made me cry.
5. One book you wish you had written:
The story of my life…and I will someday!
6. One book you wish had never been written:
I don’t really mind a book being written, but it does floor me that idiots like Ann Coulter actually get published.
7. One book you are currently reading:
Nothing right now, but I have a $20 gift card for Barnes & Noble, which I will be using soon.
8. One book you have been meaning to read:
“Cellular” by Stephen King.
9. One Book That Changed Your Life:
See Question 2 above.
10. Now Tag 5 bloggers:
Aww, shux, I have a no tagging rule. But anyone feel free to play along. And if you don’t have a blog yet because you’ve been procrastinating for 3 months, maybe this would be a good way to start. [Pete Parker

1. One book you have read more than once: Cannery Row by John Steinbeck, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Yeah I said Harry Potter Bitches!
2. One book you would want on a desert island: Something long maybe War and Peace by Tolstoy. I guess How to survive on a Desert Island wouldn’t hurt. Maybe I should be more practical and choose something like How to Build a Suitable Raft and Navigate the Oceans Using Drift Wood and Vines.
3. One book that made you laugh: Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. So what if it’s gay cliché. That shit is funny.
4. One book that made you cry: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. When Dumbledore dies. Me and him had been through soo much.
5. One book you wish you had written: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. For the Royalties. The Bible. For the Royalties again.
6. One book you wish had never been written: Crime and Punishment. First off I hate names with too many consonants. This book did not have me at hello.
7. One book you are currently reading: Just finished reading Maiden Voyage by Tania Aebi, about a bike messenger barfly girl New York who’s father propositions her to sail around the world alone.
8. One book you have been meaning to read: The Peoples History of America…so I don’t sound like such a Jackass when I open my mouth about History…or in general I guess
9. One Book That Changed Your Life: X-Men because it taught me that it was ok to be different, and even meant that I was more special than normal people.
10. Now Tag 5 bloggers:
I don’t even have a blog so this is just going to be a long unread comment on my friend Nathan’s Blog.
Now that is how you do a meme, Pete. Niiice.
